Summary
In association with China's World Trade Organization (WTO) Beef Safeguard Investigation (applicable to all imported beef supplies entering China): MLA (in conjunction with peak industry bodies and the Australian Government) prepared and lodged submissions, participated at a public hearing, facilitated a trip to Australia by Chinese Government officials, and undertook engagement with Chinese officials and stakeholders in Beijing in conveying the Australia beef industry position.
Objectives
Position the Australian beef industry for the best possible outcome following China's instigation (December 2024) of a WTO Beef Safeguard Investigation.
