Summary

The NLIS backend engine underwent an essential modernisation effort to support increasing demand, especially in light of the national sheep and goat eID requirements. This CMA aimed to resource the production rollout of frequently accessed Generic Query and File Retrieval NLIS transactions through the newly developed and distributed transaction handler, NIMBUS. Additionally, it ensured technical support was available to address the issues the arose from the addition of individual sheep and goat eIDs to the NLIS database during FY25/Q3.

Objectives

  • Productionising the Generic Query and Retrieve results NLIS transactions under the newly developed AWS cloud architecture-based distributed transactions handler NIMBUS – deferred to 2025 due to additional testing duration.
  • Provide support to enhancements and additional scope items such as reprocessing of FAILED transactions from NIMBUS, migration of RunUploader components.
  • Technical support to co-investigate, fix and deploy any production issues following the incremental addition of individual Sheep and Goat eIDs to the NLIS database.
  • Co-contribute with ISC NLIS Solution Architecture team for NLIS related activities/initiatives.
  • Extend and complete documentation for updated designs, how to guides to ISC solutions delivery and Shared Services Technical assistance to NLIS BAU team and Handover.
