Summary

The 5th LEP Expo and Conference 2025 was held in Tangerang, with more than 1,000 visitors, around 170 exhibitors (from 22 companies), and 50 Australian delegations. The conference featured two keynote speakers on market updates, the Indonesia Road Map for the Livestock Development Program 2025-2035, and three panel discussions on halal, animal health, and the Free Nutritious Meals program. The exporters-importers meeting was held to provide industry updates, with producers' representatives attending the meeting (NTCA & AgForce Queensland). A meeting on collaboration opportunities in food security and biosecurity was held, with representatives from both industry and government from both countries in attendance. The Australian delegation completed the event with a market visit to supply chains in West Java

Objectives

•    The event aims to help Indonesia's red meat and cattle industry better understand the products and services available to them. This will allow more informed choices to improve animal welfare and supply chain efficiencies within their production systems. It facilitates business matchmaking between livestock producers, exporters-importers, animal products suppliers, potential customers, and businesses in general.
•    The event will deliver:
o    Two (2) days conferences: three (3) industry panel discussions and eight (8) trade product presentations
o    Trade show for 23 companies
o    Two (2) days of industry meetings: exporters-importers meeting, trade meetings, and other events

Key findings

The exhibition specific to red meat and cattle in Indonesia is only at the LEP Expo. This year’s expo provided visitors with information on biosecurity, animal health and welfare, halal, market updates, and trade partnership collaboration opportunities between Indonesia and Australia, all customized and strategically delivered through panel discussions led by various experts. The Expo provided a valuable opportunity for livestock producers, traders, importers, and exporters to meet and discuss market conditions, ultimately determining the way forward for a better and safer trade.

Benefits to industry

The Expo provided a valuable opportunity for livestock producers, traders, importers, and exporters to meet and discuss market conditions, ultimately determining the way forward for a better and safer trade.
