Aussie Beef Mates experience a taste of Queensland's beef production

From 3-12 October, a group of 25 international chefs and food professionals embarked on a journey to Queensland, Australia to delve into the state's beef production from paddock to plate.

Organised by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) in partnership with Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ) as a second part to the Aussie Beef Mates delegation, the group was treated to a showcase of unique beef production across the Atherton Tablelands, Charters Towers region, and southeast Queensland.

The Beef Mates visited local properties, feedlots, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and top-tier restaurants, gaining insights into the Meat Standards Australia (MSA) program, food safety and integrity systems, and various beef cooking techniques.

They also had to opportunity to share ideas on innovative beef uses and network with stakeholders within the supply chain.

Following the Aussie Beef Mates’ tour to QLD, MLA and Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) will coordinate more than 50 co-branded events spanning 14 global markets.

These events will serve as a platform for the Beef Mates to share their wealth of knowledge and insights gained from their experience with Australian Beef, elevate awareness and captivate the imagination of food and trade professionals from around the world regarding the exceptional quality of Australian red meat.

Through this program, MLA and TIQ aim to strengthen relationships with key international markets and drive demand for Australian beef.
