Security of data and current implementation

What about the security and privacy of my data?

The natural reaction to this shared database is fear that some party might get access to information that compromises the business of one or more of the parties involved in the blockchain. Blockchains can be public where anyone can join or private where they are restricted to agreed collaborating parties only. There are also mechanisms for securing and encrypting the data held in the blockchain.

What implementations are currently in use?

Blockchain is already in use in the red meat supply chain and a good example of an organisation looking to leverage the value of blockchain is Beef Ledger where the technology is being used to secure supply chains and exchange payments. Other agricultural industries such as the grains industry are also starting to use the technology. Agridigital have had success in these supply chains. There are also examples in the Cotton, Chicken and Pork industries.
