MLA’s tender process, rules and current tenders
MLA invites tenders from suitably qualified organisations or individuals to deliver projects and services aligned with MLA’s strategic priorities. Each tender opportunity will specify the project scope, requirements and closing date.
Tenders must review and comply with all requirements specified in MLA’s Tender Rules and Guidelines and the associated Request for Tender Application form for each tender opportunity. You can find a copy of MLA’s Tender Rules and Guidelines here: MLA’s Tender Rules and Guidelines.
MLA reserves the right to accept or reject any tender, negotiate with one or more tenderers, or vary the process as required under its Procurement Policy and SFA obligations.
Unless otherwise agreed, successful tenderers will enter into MLA’s standard umbrella agreements. More information on and copies of those agreements can be found on the MLA’s agreements page.

Australia's red meat producers manage a significant proportion of the national land base and play an important role in maintaining environmental assets while delivering productive and profitable farming businesses. As interest in natural capital accounting, environmental markets and sustainability frameworks continues to grow, there is an increasing need for tools to help producers capture, understand and communicate environmental information.
Current approaches to environmental reporting and credentialling across agriculture are fragmented, with multiple tools and systems developed for different purposes. This can create duplication, inefficiencies and additional administrative burden for producers, while limiting consistency across the broader supply chain.
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) is seeking proposals to undertake a structured scoping process that will inform the future development of environmental reporting tools for Australian red meat producers. The project will examine existing approaches, identify stakeholder needs and investigate opportunities to leverage existing systems and data sources. The project will develop recommendations for an industry-aligned requirements framework that can be used to assess and support environmental reporting tools to meet the needs of producers and the broader red meat industry.

Australia's red meat industry is increasingly required to demonstrate verified environmental and sustainability credentials to customers and other supply chain participants. However, credentials are currently generated and held across multiple systems, making it difficult for producers to efficiently share their credentials with the market, and for customers to identify producers who hold credentials that align with their requirements.
To address this challenge, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) is seeking proposals to undertake a structured requirements-gathering and due diligence process to assess the feasibility, scope and design of a producer-consented credentials register for the Australian red meat industry.
The project will identify user needs, integration requirements and governance considerations, assess existing credential systems that could be leveraged, and determine how verified credentials can be efficiently exchanged, discovered and shared across the supply chain. Outcomes will inform recommendations for a future centralised myCredentials Register.
