Summary

MLA supported the technical edit and update of the Best Practice Dairy Beef Manual (Rasenburg and Deland version). The manual provides sufficient information for those considering entry to this industry and is targeted primarily at bull beef production. Animal health considerations are imbedded in the relevant chapters, in addition to an appendix on calf management and disease. New sections include a summary, and Midfield case studies as an appendix. The manual will conform with technical advice provided in the More Beef from Pastures manual, particularly on pasture growth and utilisation and on animal health.
