Summary

The purpose of this project is to support Australian independent representation on the Council of the International 3G Foundation for 2019/20.

The International 3G Foundation is a collaborative, independent, not-for-profit international eating quality research platform linked to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Specialised Section on Meat. It aims to improve consumer satisfaction of meat products through fostering the application of global collaborative meat research knowledge throughout supply chains.

Objectives

  • Foundation meeting participation, including teleconferences and where required international travel for face to face meetings
  • Participation in UNECE Eating Quality forum in Berlin
  • Contribution to Foundation strategy development and deployment
  • Contribution to governance oversight.

Benefits to industry

This benefits industry as it facilitates Australia having representation and involvement in a global initiative to improve the eating quality of red meat.

Future research

There will be continued involvement in this Foundation and future initiatives.
