Summary

The Australian AgriFood Data Exchange (AAFDX) project seeks to define and articulate the business case for investment in an industry owned data exchange with a vision to create 'an interconnected data highway for Australia’s AgriFood value chain'. The purpose of the AAFDX is to provide a centralised mechanism for the exchange of data between participants in the agrifood value chain. This project will employ a Probity officer for Phase 2 and 3 of the AAFDX Project to uphold the projects procurement process during the Request For Proposal stage.

Objectives

The Probity Officer employed for this phase will be required to uphold a fair and transparent processes such that all potential proposals received from the market for the data exchange market sounding phase will have confidence in the way their information is handled. Having this confidence will increase engagement from the industry to participate in the AAFDX.

Benefits to industry

The AAFDX will allow the agrifood industry data owners control over what data they would like to share and with whom. This will unlock potential opportunites with their data and enable collaboration across the supply chain.
