Summary
The digitisation of MSA Beef Eating Quality Insights project has created a new MSA National Benchmarking sub-system within myMSA. The system is converting the existing biennial Beef Eating Quality Insights (BEQI) report from a static PDF publication into a dynamic digital platform, providing national and state-level benchmarking information to producers, MSA members, industry stakeholders, and data consumers.
Objectives
The project aimed to:
• Develop and deliver a new MSA National Benchmarking sub-system within myMSA.
• Digitise the Beef Eating Quality Insights reporting and data analysis framework.
• Provide public access to national and state benchmarking data through MSA web integrations.
• Improve producer access to benchmarking information and eating quality insights.
• Support industry-wide monitoring of factors influencing MSA Index performance and eating quality outcomes.
Key findings
The MSA Beef Eating Quality Insights report has been successfully digitised into a new National Benchmarking platform, replacing reliance on static biennial reporting.
Producers, industry stakeholders and the general public can now access national and state benchmarking data online throughout the year, providing greater visibility of eating quality performance trends.
Benefits to industry
The new online platform provides year-round access to national and state beef eating quality benchmarking data, and enables producers to compare performance against industry benchmarks and identify improvement opportunities.
MLA action
Support the continuing digitalisation of MSA beeg eating quality insights.
Future research
Additional reports and functionality will be added in later years to include Animal disease & defect condition data, and other analysis.
