NSW weekly sheep summary

Lambs

Lamb consignments throughout NSW increased by 34% week-on-week, for a total of 112,352 head.

• Dubbo supply nearly doubled compared to the last rain affected market for a total of 29,656 head
• Tamworth more than doubled its yardings to offer 4,500 lambs and Forbes lifted by 41%, to pen 34,208 head
• CTLX increased by 12% for 7,200 head, while Wagga gained 3%, at 25,000 lambs
• Corowa yarded 7,882 lambs
• Inverell continued its fortnightly market and offered 3,912 head.

New season lambs sold $2 to $5 cheaper, as the trade weights made from $112 to $148/head, or an average price from 606¢ to 616¢/kg cwt.

Trade weight older lambs slipped $2 to $4, making from $90 to $145/head and attained an average price from 560¢ to 572¢/kg cwt.

The heavy weight lambs lost $1 to $2, to sell from $128 to $196/head, or an average price from 560¢ to 591¢/kg cwt. The best of the heavy weight Merino lambs sold from $148 to $168/head.

Mutton

Sheep numbers increased by 28% week-on-week, for a total of 30,990 head.

• Dubbo penned 6,900 sheep, as Tamworth offered 1,500 head
• CTLX yarded 2,800 head, while Forbes penned 7,776 sheep
• Wagga consigned 8,000 head
• Corowa offered 2,604 sheep, while Inverell penned 1,410 head.

Sheep trended 8¢ to 12¢/kg cwt cheaper, with the medium and heavy weights selling from $54 to $150/head.
