Summary

The NLIS Refresh project encompasses a full technology refresh of the current NLIS Database, covering many development components. The following projects delivered critical components to continue to support 'legacy' system-to-system interfaces required to interact with the NLIS Database. The 'Bridge' component converts data designed from the old NLIS Database into the new NLIS Database format, which is essential to keep the many existing systems that interface with NLIS operational while they work on migrating to the new system.Implementation of mirror functionality and migration of Bridge reports within the NLIS technology platform to support the decommissioning of the old NLIS database.A new generic Notifications service was developed to replace the existing NLIS Notifications service and form part of the new Integrity Systems portal. Serving Integrity Systems such as NLIS, LPA, LDL and eNVD, this service is essential in providing communications back to users for information on their activities and actions within various Integrity systems. The development of new Refresh API's for Status Management, covering Properties, Devices and Automated processing for Animal statuses (formally "device status for properties" in the old database)The scoping ofthe effort of delivering two main sets of API components for the NLIS Refresh project – Status and Account management.the compliance monitoring reports and remediation of the NLIS Data Warehouse to support the future development of compliance reports.the total effort of delivering the "Bridge" software component for the NLIS Refresh project.the total effort of delivering the "Data Migration" component for the NLIS Refresh project This was followed by the delivery of a Proof of Concept exercise to ensure that suitable skilled development resources are engaged to meet the deadlines of the final stages of Refresh delivery.A data migration plan, as proposed in the earlier Proof of Concept, and the development of SQL scrips that were used by the team to migrate ISC data to the new database. The development of both the design of the new NLIS Database website, and the "toolkit" of knowledge and practices for wider use in MLA Digital initiatives, to bring User Experience (UX) and Design Thinking (DT) capabilities in a practical form into the ISC product delivery strategy.
