Summary

Deliverer will develop the Deliverer and producer manual for the off-the-shelf supported learning project (SLP), 'Gra$$ to Dollars'. The content of this SLP will aim to develop the skills and confidence of producers to be able to conduct:

• pasture assessment – composition, kg/ha feed on offer and quality (digestibility)
• livestock condition scoring
• interaction of pasture quality, quantity and ruminant livestock intake
• critical sheep and beef cattle targets over the breeding year
• principles of pasture production and sustainability
• grazing management principles
• feed budgeting.

Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop the trainer's manual for the off-the-shelf Supported Learning Package 'Gra$$ to Dollars’ and to develop the producer's manual for the off-the-shelf Supported Learning Package ‘Gra$$ to Dollars’.

MLA action

MLA continues to deliver the Profitable Grazing Systems (PGS) program, supporting participants to have the opportunity to develop and practice skills with small groups of like-minded producers to improve business performance.
