Summary

Community Sentiment Research for 2022 tracked the key metrics around perceptions towards the red meat industry with regards to environmental management, animal welfare and reasons for increasing or decreasing consumption of red meat. A deep dive on the impact of knowledge of the industry was undertaken which indicated that the higher the level of knowledge of the industry, the better the perceptions and the more trust the community have of the industry, which in turn is highly correlated with consumption levels.

Objectives

Track community sentiment towards the Australian red meat industry and perceptions towards environmental and livestock management.
