Summary

This project will outsource expert assistance from Servian Pty Ltd, to complete phase three of the project to develop supporting infrastructure for the central database.

Objectives

Key features of phase three include:
1. Migration of the SGDW (Sheep Genetic Data Warehouse) to Integrity Systems Company Data warehouse.
2. Reporting of results including development of the Sheep Genetics search site system to facilitate this.
3. Testing, documentation, and on-boarding of SG staff for the above features.

Key findings

The re-development of the Sheep Genetics databases were supported in another project (L.GEN.1906) to be completed in three phases:
1. Propose and develop a new solution architecture i.e. a central database.
2. Develop supporting infrastructure for the new central database.
3. Further development and integration of systems.

Benefits to industry

In consultation with MLA and Sheep Genetics, the supplier will provide a review, and propose and develop new solution architecture that will enable the reporting of processed results (Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs) and Indexes) produced from genetic evaluation.

MLA action

The database will continue to be maintained and developed where necessary.
