Summary

The project will support the administration of the Australian Lot Feeders' Association (ALFA) National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS) 2021 Feedlot of the Year Competition and the associated second round assessment of entrants, including physical verification of the assessments lodged by feedlot entrants.

Objectives

1. Administration of the Feedlot of the Year Competition, including:
a. Planning meetings
b. Review and update of competition checklists
c. Competition administration
d. Review and assessment of results
e. Second round planning
f. Results compilation for feedback
g. Award preparation

2. Second round assessment of the Feedlot of the Year Competition:
a. Feedlot visits
b. Write up of reports

Benefits to industry

Since its inception in 1991, NFAS Feedlot of the Year Competition has aimed to encourage continuous improvement within the feedlot industry and to recognise those feedlots that are operating their business at the forefront of the principles of the NFAS.
