Summary

This sponsorship has been approved by MLA Comms team and sponsorship application process. Funding and management is coming from LEP budget.
The Livestock Collective (TLC) is a trusted and respected source for not only the agricultural industry, but the public more broadly. There has been great success in building trust in arguably some of agriculture's most difficult topics. The target audience is not activists, nor is it our own industry fans. It is important that industry supports us in what we do, however TLC's true target market is the 60% of the community that are 'in the middle' or on the fence about live export.

Objectives

From research we know there are many people looking for more information. TLC's approach is more than just accumulating followers, but to aim for high engagement to broaden reach to help communicate and break down existing myths, old or incorrect information currently being shared.

Key findings

To promote a collaborative, united agriculture sector which provides visibility, communication and engagement to the community thus ensuring increased understanding of and connection to the agriculture industry.

Benefits to industry

TLC's purpose is to share real stories with the wider community so that more informed opinions can be formulated and decisions made about the role livestock plays in Australian agriculture.

MLA action

To continue communication and engagement with the community thus ensuring increased understanding of and connection to the agriculture industry.

Future research

General public informed and the supply chain empowered will lead to community acceptance and trust of the live export industry. Social media continues to play a fundamental role in communicating with the public.
