Summary

The purpose of this project was to create high quality producer case studies in both video and print to highlight how producers and processors are using Livestock Data Link (LDL) and the benefits this is providing on- and off-farm.

Three of the four agreed-upon videos have been created, with one more remaining. The last video will be the development of a "How to Use" guide for LDL.

Objectives

The main objectvies of this project were to produce:

  • three case studies in YouTube video form for the Integrity Systems Company YouTube page
  • videos between 1.5-2 minutes in length
  • a 600-700 word written case study to be included in MLA'she Friday Feedback Newsletter.

Benefits to industry

These videos highlight how LDL is providing online feedback, analysis and benchmarking on producer livestock consignments to drive data-based decisions on-farm and optimise supply chain performance.

The videos are a visual tool for producers to see how LDL can be used as a management tool to increase compliance and therefore profit.

MLA action

MLA shared the YouTube videos via social media on both the ISC and MLA sites.

The videos were also shared with the LDL advisory committee, which includes representatives from the Peak Industry Councils.

At workshops and conferences, the videos have been used as a learning tool and can be utilised ongoing in this way. The processors involved were sent the videos via a link in an email from ISC to use when and where they see fit.

The videos are also permanently available on the ISC YouTube channel.
