Summary

With in-market representations, MLA is well-placed to work with importers and exporters to understand the challenges and barriers faced in each country to unlock and alleviate the NTBs. improve efficiencies, and proactively mitigate against biosecurity threats. There is growing competition in these markets and to defend our market share which is why increasing communications and representations. This will help to nurture and further strengthen trade relationships and reaffirm our commitment as a trusted reliable partner.

Project includes completing the following:
- Develop well-researched technical and industry briefs to support industry positions and submissions on technical and other NTB priorities including digitalisation, halal requirements, technical import conditions, establishment listings and product restrictions/price controls, competitor analysis.
- Support management/delivery of trade & market access-related projects and research, e.g. ATMAC projects, animal health & welfare projects, environmental initiatives, India sheepmeat.
- Formal and informal stakeholder engagement to highlight Australia's credentials, systems and processes.
- Monitor market conditions and provide industry with timely and accurate intel and updates.

Objectives

This aligns with IMK objectives of Improving Market Access and Delivering trusted and high quality insights (up and down the supply chain).
