Optimising ewe lamb joining outcome – Producer Demonstration Site Field day 2024

MLA’s PDS program supports producers to adapt, validate and demonstrate the business value of integrating new management practices and skills into their local farming systems.​

The ‘Optimising ewe lamb joining outcomes’ PDS aims to demonstrate the decision making process and additional management skills required to successfully join ewe lambs.  ​

The project began in February 2023 and will run until December 2026. ​​

What to expect on the day​

The field day will incorporate discussions from the host site producers as well as other guest speakers on a range of topics, including:​

• some key project findings to date​
• setting targets to join ewe lambs​
• ram health and joining preparation​
• Ewe Lamb Joining Decision Support Tool​

Animals on display:​

• 2022 drop ewes joined as ewe lambs in 2023​
• 2023 drop ewe lambs to be joined in 2024​
• 2023 drop progeny from the 2022 drop ewe lambs
