Summary

The Strategy Science Program Coordinator coordinated a suite of projects in pasture soil biology as per the Pasture Soil Biology Management Agreement and the Pasture Soil Biology Research Strategy.

Objectives

Key activities of the Strategic Science Coordinator 2007/08 - Pasture Soil Biology are to:
1. Facilitate the development of projects within the Program;
2. Facilitate synergistic linkages between projects and researchers;
3. Act as the point of first contact on all matters pertaining to the projects;
4. Supervise delivery of research outcomes against contracted milestone s;
5. Undertake site visits to assess research progress and proficiency;
6. Develop linkages with relevant soil biology research outside this Program;
7. Represent the Parties of the Management Agreement at agreed forums a nd meetings on matters pertaining to pasture soil biology research;
8. Facilitate communication within the RDCs and externally to producers, advisors and researchers;
9. Oversee preparation of reports and press releases;
10. Prepare a Soil Biology Program final report;
11. Act as executive officer to the pasture soil alliance management committee.

Key findings

This project successfully achieved the key activities listed above.

The Strategy Science Program Coordinator was integral to the successful coordination of the pasture soil biology as per the Soil Pasture Biology Management Agreement and the Pasture Soil Biology Research Strategy.
