Summary

A CSIRO and NSW DPI project funding application is currently being considered for investment. The project will develop technology which will enable measurement of feed intake on pasture. This project is being considered as a strategic science investment and the technical risk of a successful output is considered to be medium to high. This level of technical risk is acceptable if there is a high benefit from industry use of the technology. This Company Managed Activity (CMA) will pay for the costs of a workshop to develop and evaluate the potential industry benefits from this technology. The workshop outputs will be used as the industry benefit assumptions in a BCA for the research project, and will be significantly contribute with the decision as to whether the $1.6m investment should proceed to the MLA Board for approval.
