Summary

To demonstrate the value of the MSA program and address the insights/needs of each stakeholder group, MSA produced a number of video case studies (produced in conjunction with a number of written case studies).

Objectives

Case studies – about three to four minutes each.
- two MSA sheepmeat producer case studies
- four MSA beef producer case studies (one of these will relate to using myMSA to access feedback information)
- four MSA general case studies – a mix of processors, brand owners and end users.

MSA also requires high quality still shots of the video subjects and a social media edit of each video.

myMSA videos:
- four promotional videos – these would focus on key functions of the platform i.e. logging in, accessing quick reports, using the benchmarking feature, using the MSA e-dec (in the new e-NVD program). These will be shared on socials and should be about one to two minutes each
- four help videos – these would be more detailed focusing on specific processes. These will sit within the platform itself and serve as help or ‘how to’ resources.

Key findings

The MSA team were able to utilise insights from carcase grading data to identify key issues and opportunities for specific regions and seasons.

Benefits to industry

Greater engagement with carcase feedback and benchmarking systems for beef will be an enabler for producers to better meet customer specifications.
- Utilise insights from carcase grading data to identify key issues and opportunities for specific regions and seasons.

MLA action

Case studies were used in MSA communication materials.

This online summary will be published on the MLA R&D website.

Future research

These producer case studies have been proven to be valuable tools to facilitate practice change for other producers. As such, future investment would be the development of additional/more recent case studies.
