Summary
The purpose of this project was to support the myMSA system, MSA licensed system vendors and MLA staff in relation to the myMSA website.
Objectives
The main objectives of this project were to support and maintain the following systems:
1. Technical support (phone and meetings) for MSA personnel in utilisation of the myMSA system
2. Technical support for MSA licensed system vendors post adoption of the myMSA system
3. Technical support for MSA licensed processors in utilisation of the myMSA system
4. Correcting and/or deleting data where required as requested by MLA staff
5. Housekeeping activities for the myMSA system at a data and system level
6. Liaison with MLA IT on system environment issues
7. Small updates as needed to address priority issues
8. Maintenance of the 'Web Issues' register for task reporting
9. Turn off the migration from existing myMSA as this is decommissioned once all MSA plants have transferred to the new myMSA
10. Further development and implementation of myMSA system as advised by the MSA team
11. Implementing the latest version of SSO in myMSA.
Key findings
This project ensured the continued integrity of MSA’s internal and external software systems.
Benefits to industry
The benefit to industry from this project was the continued access to the myMSA program which is a requirement for all MSA beef and sheepmeat processors to be able to upload beef and sheep carcase grading data and record activities to fulfil MSA integrity requirements. Given its daily use by commercial businesses, this system needs to be available 24/7 and able to be maintained.
MLA action
This online summary will be published on the MLA R&D website.
Future research
Ongoing support and maintenance will be required for myMSA and DCU application.
