Summary

The project aims to provide industry and government with consistent, accurate, secure and controlled access to MLA/ISC industry data (e.g. NLIS data) stored in the MLA Industry Data Platform for reporting and insights.

The project aims to provide industry and government with consistent, accurate, secure and controlled access to MLA/ISC industry data for reporting and insights.

Key findings

Outcomes from this project provided a platform which supports:
- a single source of information
- a consistent way of reporting for all users
- simplified and unified access controls
- the creation of intuitive dashboards
- the capability to auto-scale with demand.

Benefits to industry

The creation of a secure, centralised, big data platform to house all MLA data to enable advanced analytics, data science and data research.

MLA action

Post completion of this project, MLA progressed to a consolidation of many disparate reporting tools into a single product - Power BI.

Future research

Future focus will be to broaden MLAs data science capability.
