L.AIA.0002 - Know and Show Your Carbon Footprint - Build 1

The Know & Show your Carbon Footprint project in its entirety aims to provide a digital solution that enables producers to estimate their enterprise’s carbon footprint and make better informed decisions to reduce emissions.

Summary

The objective of this cross- RDC project is to digitise and aggregate the existing GAF (Greenhouse Accounting Framework) calculators for all agricultural commodities and other calculators into a common, scalable, web-based platform. This investment will deliver the aggregation of GAF tools into a common, core digital infrastructure (the Platform), which will enable access by myMLA. This will be of particular interest for the goat and feedlot sector, as well as other commodities being digitised to a maturity to match SB-GAF. This means through myMLA integrating with AIA platform, our red meat producers will be able to do whole of enterprise carbon accounting.

Objectives

Development of initial core infrastructure, being the digital infrastructure required for the initial integration and digitisation of calculators for access and use through the Platform, as detailed in the Specifications (Core Infrastructure).

Access to the following calculators through the Platform, as detailed in the Specifications and subject to any applicable terms of use:
* FullCAM
* Blueshift calculator
* G-GAF
* F- GAF
* C-GAF
* H-GAF
* P-GAF
* Bu-GAF
* De-GAF
* Go-GAF
* Po-GAF
* S-GAF
* SB-GAF
* Australian Dairy Carbon Calculator
* Australian Wine Calculator.

Maintenance of the Platform for a time period and on terms to be agreed with the relevant Provider.

Key findings

This project was set up to support the development of initial core infrastructure for the various carbon calculators, therefore there was no key findings.

Benefits to industry

Due to the GAFs for goat and feedlot sector, as well as other commodities being digitised to a maturity to match SB-GAF. This means through myMLA integrating with AIA platform, our red meat producers will be able to do whole of enterprise carbon accounting.

Future research

This project was set up to support the development of initial core infrastructure for the various carbon calculators, therefore there was no future research.
