Two weeks left to have your say on MLA’s indicators

08 September 2022

Key points:

  • MLA is currently surveying producers to understand how its indicators could be enhanced.
  • Producers are encouraged to complete the survey before it closes on 16 September.
  • MLA aims to ensure its indicators have sufficient throughput, are accurate, and reflect market trends.

MLA’s Market Information team are currently reviewing the 23 indicators MLA currently provide. This is the first review of indicators since 2017 and is aimed at ensuring that MLA’s indicators suit the needs of industry.

MLA’s indicator review aims to ensure that the pricing indicators offered by the organisation help producers make effective decisions. To do this, the indicators need to be accurate, reflect market trends, and include sufficient volumes of transactions.

Your input needed

To ensure that producers and other industry stakeholders’ needs are met as part of this process, the Market Information team is conducting critical consultation with key industry representative bodies, producers and stakeholders.

As part of this, a survey on MLA’s indicators is available for producers to complete.

The survey closes in two weeks on Friday 16 September and all producers are encouraged to provide feedback on the indicators MLA provides through the survey before it closes.
